COACHING PHILOSOPHY

Ruaridh enjoyed a playing career that was defined by resilience and a quiet consistency that earned him respect in both Sevens and the fifteen‑a‑side game. He first made his mark on the World Sevens Series, becoming a central figure for England and going on to win an Olympic silver medal with Team GB in Rio, along with standout performances such as being named Player of the Final in Cape Town. His transition into the XVs game was seamless, joining Bath in 2018 and going on to make close to a hundred appearances across the back three while also earning England caps and a place in the 2019 World Cup squad. Throughout his seven years at Bath he was known for his speed, sharp footwork and the reliability of someone who always delivered for the team. He retired from professional rugby in 2025 having won the treble with Bath.

Following his retirement from competitive rugby, Ruaridh fluidly moved into coaching, where he is currently working with the Bath premiership men's team and local school rugby, bringing with him the experience of a career shaped by hard work, adaptability and performing at the highest level. His inspirational and detailed nature, allows others to grow in their development with close, caring and thoughtful support

Ruaridh is driven by a personal commitment to helping players maximise their potential. His inspirational manner, passion, and detailed knowledge of the game underpin the way he works with individuals of all ages.
